My friend was in people to people, and she said it was a great experience. She got to go to school in Fiji and live with some native tribes. Yes, if you can afford it, go! Don't be scared, I doubt anything bad will happen. If it will make you feel better, bring something that you love with you (you know like a blanket you've had for awhile or your favorite teddy bear). I'm serious! I still do that when I fly because I'm afraid of landing. Also, make sure to bring your cell phone with you, and discuss this subject with your parents. You should consider asking someone you know to go with you. My friend took her sister with her so that her parents wouldn't worry as much.

Its a wonderful opportunity and you would have the most amazing experience.
I think its sensible to be concerned at the terrorist activity that has taken place and is taking place. But as far as I understand it, the most strictest security operations are in place to prevent this activity taking place in as far as it is possible to do so. The terrorists would win if we all stayed at home cowering under the bed blankets, too paralysed to lead our lives.
The best thing we can all do is get on and lead our lives as best we can, including taking up a such a wonderful opportunity that you have just been given. At the same time, follow security advice when it is given, and understand that any security procedures you have to follow in order to fly, as inconvenient and time-consuming as they may seem at times, are in place to protect you and your fellow travellers.
Take the experience, enjoy it.

You should go - this will be an amazing opportunity. Don't worry about the terrorists. Did you know that the average American is more likely to get hit by lightning than to be killed by terrorists? Go and have fun and don't worry.

Well since all of those planes were heading INTO the U.S. then you're safer trying to fly OUT of the U.S. Talk it over with your parents. The trip sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity. If I were you/or my child, I'd let you go.

You got to go, why not. Don't let stupid terrorists hold you back from living your life.
Everything/everyday you do in life is a gamble, terrorists could decide to blow up your town one day, you never know.... so get out there and live :)

Absolutely go!! Don't let distant fears and possibilities ruin your chances for an amazing experience! You can't live your life in a bubble, so you might as well grab it by the horns and go for it. There is nothing worse than a life wasted....

It's alright. Security is very tight nowadays. You should go to broaden your mind. Let's face reality, you don't come across this opportunity everyday now do you? Good luck and best wishes.

You should go, it's a graet opportunity. And youre much more likely to die...from a car crash, which is a lot more common....but nobody doesn't drive because of car crashes....that happen everyday.
And if you're not meant to die, you won't. Trust God.

Well just go with your gut instinct... If your head is tellling you to go, but something at the pit of your stomach is telling you that you shouldn't go, then go with that feeling. Good luck!
