its been football for the past year or so...
but really its toss between Football (NOT Soccer) and Cricket....and of course Rum Drinking.
Football and Cricket in trinidad have always been the sports and both have their popularity, just that world cup fever took over for a while and things are back to normal.
I think that the reason you think cricket 'took over' is because every year for us it's the same ole same ole cricket, but this rounds in the world cup was a BIG deal, everyone knows the West Indies Cricket Team but now the world knows of the Trinidad and Tobago Soca Warriors.

In Australia, we are fast approaching the finals in Rugby League and have had the Rugby Tri Nations series televised. Also now that the WC 2007 for cricket is approaching we obviously are beginning to get into cricket mode. But with that said, the WC football results the socceroo's achieved has really lifted the profile in OZ and the domestic league is about to commence so there is much more interest in that area also. It's going to be a good 12 months for sport in Australia. All the Asia Cup games are sold out also, so it's great to see football grow in Australia like that. Aug 16 Aust V's Kuwait, off to see that..can't wait.

Basketball's often been the most popular sport in Indonesia. But I think soccer comes close to basketball. Not gonna be a surprise if soccer takes basketball place someday. If only our team's good.

World cup is over but now real football start , the Champions league and seasons have started and with so much big transfers I can't wait to begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AFL (Australian Football League).... Though it has to said World Cup has made HUGE improvements to Soccer in Australia!!
