like i`m with this guy right now. we`ve been together for 13 months; but in the back of my head i still think he has feelings for his ex girlfriend which i heard was his first love.. she , too has liked him again on and off. i`m just wondering what to think. before i found out he had told her "if i had my way, we would still be together right now" when him& i were together.. he has also lied to me many many times when it`s involving her.. so is it true? first love`s forever? should i just step aside?

He will always love her. You can't get over your first. However, this doesn't mean that he doesn't have the room in his heart to love you as well. You should show him that you care about him; 13 months is a long time. Tell him how you feel. Maybe you can discuss his ex gf to make sure that you two are meant to be together. Don't step aside if you love him. Fight for your first love, huh?

This is a tricky situation to be in. I think that we all have a soft spot for the first love we had. I know I do but that does not change the fact that he is out of my life right now. More importantly I am with someone else now who I value more.
I think you should have a talk with your boyfriend and see how he feels. Some guys are still stuck in that old flame mode but still choose go get involved with someone else. It's unfair but you should talk to him, if you still feel uncomfortable then perhaps you need to think about what would make you happier.

First loves are generally that ...but very seldom are ones last or final love...its very normal to have feelings for your first love...and many things in other relationship bring back memories because that's were such feelings began...but after 13 months, you both have established your own memories and the past becomes history...don't step aside...step it up...enjoy your relationship.

no. i think u shouldn't step aside until u r completely sure he doesnt want to be with u. if he's been wit u for 13 months he couldve left u a while back. but he's still with u. and if that girl is truly his first love then of course he'll always have special feelings for her. hope this helps.

I personally don't believe in the impact of 1st love. If it was over than it was over. but that doesn't mean it is over. men are like women, just motivated differently. sex vs security. if the sex is good and constant and better than most the man will stick around but if something better comes along than that could be a problem. guess that is why women use things like kids and houses to lock a man down to the relationship. if you want to be with him than do it, and do what you can to make him happy and tell him what makes you happy. don't be too happy if you are not married, cause where there is no law there is no transgression. peace.

I have always believed that you never really get over your first love. I mean I tried to get away from mine so many times when we were younger. But somehow always got back with him. And Now were getting married. If I were you I wouldn't bother with it too much. But I would worry about the lieing thing. Cause usually that isn't good.

I was twelve when I had my first ´date with this girl.I would not like to date her now I somehow always seem to think that she, like in love stories, will be the one I will marry....

Yes, it's normal for him to still have feelings for her and possibly always will. If he has made these remarks towards her and lied about it when you were together, that's a sign. I would have been long gone. I don't think your relationship will survive the trust issues. Move on and find someone who will respect you.

No it might be first love but not for sure true love, because if it was ture love he would still be with her. but if he keeps lying then you dont need to be with anyone like that. so it would be best to step aside.

I do think that if she were his first love then he will always have some sort of feelings for her but who knows, you could be the 2nd and lasting love!!!
