If you're certified, most places will take you, just call up the HR dept. and ask. If you're moving to a new state, be warned that every state is different and the regulations for what techs can and can't do are different. If you aren't yet certified, get certified or check with some of the larger chain community pharmacies. Many are willing to sponser you for classes and testing fees.
Walgreens is known for sponsering new starters. You can apply online: www.walgreens.com (I think that's the right address)

Any city in the US as long as you have your certification. Rural America needs more pharm techs (and other allied health professionals). So if you don't mind leaving Chicago, there are a lot of towns where you can afford to buy a nice, modest home on a pharm tech salary. You can live very comfortably off that kind of money, whereas you might be poor if you stayed in Chicago.
