Why am I 'afraid' to ask questions? Big woop, I lose five points. The points don't matter though!!! So then why do I limit myself? Why was I excited to get to level three, when it matters for absolutely nothing!? Ok, you get to answer more questions....but I'm bored and I want to ask a question, but I don't......why am I such a weirdo?1

I'm new to this site & I'm having a hard time with that question myself. It's supposed to be a place of Q&A interaction, yet from what I've read, they deduct points for actually asking questions!

I think the points don't really matter either. If I wanted points, I'd be playing a video game, but the trepidation probably harkens back to youth and tests, etc... where we all tried to achieve asbolute perfection for whatever reasons.

I have seen some very good questions, answered a few, & I've seen some fairly juvenile stuff too. The only reason I even want more points is so that I can give some of the answers I've read a solid thumbs up for being so informative and insightful.

Make you a deal. You don't be afraid, and neither will I. Or at least we'll try not to be. :)

You may be afraid others will think your question is stupid. You may get answers that are from jerks like I have (being called a smart @$$ when I wasn't meaning to sound like one), but for the most part others have given very meaningful answers and I have appreciated that. Next, why do you limit yourself? Fear. I looked forward to getting to level three too but I knew it was no great big deal getting there (reward coming soon!) and others got there before I did and others are at higher levels than I am. Finally, why do you think you are a W E I R D O? *laugh laugh* Answer more than you ask, maybe you have more to give in that area.

Not a weirdo, some just don't wanna ask questions maybe because all your "want to ask questions" have already been asked. Just type then in the search box above yahoo answer. still, just any questions, ANY, although some are restricted. try asking people's opinions on something...

Because if your at a higher level than people are more likely to take your answers seriously. And by losing point it looks like you answered less questions?

Maybe you want to get to the highest level? So you don't want to lose points so it won't take so long.

i did not even investigate the purpose of points....i just wanted to get some opinions on some issues and thoughts in my life from strangers (the most unbiased opinions). The points things is psycholigical and America is known for its competitive spirit. Even though the point get you nothing...there next to your profile is a constant count, a number which has already been imprinted in your mind as competition and losers aren't accepted well in american society.

You are afraid to ask a question because your afraid you may not like the answers you get. You limit yourself because of fear. I don't know you well enough to know why you think that your a weirdo.

So, is you can answer more questions at level 3 that means you can't ask at level 2?

That explains a lot.

No worries love.
Once ya get started it's not so bad.
And if anyone gives you negative feedback or offers a personal attack just send me a message. I love playing with people like that. But I do have a habbit of breaking my toys.
