first off, not all white people are racist, I've been around white people all my life and never encountered a major problem before; the few that are have reasons, some personal, others just don't feel comfortable around other races. But for the most part, some white people are racist because of their background (their family or how they were raised) or they've had a bad experience with someone of any opposite race that has caused tension among them now.

Of course, you must also realize that everyone is racist to an extent, regardless of who you are, black, white, Hispanic, etc; everyone has some degree of racism, some peoples are just stronger than others.

Because they were raised to be racist, plain and simple. I know a lot of white people who think they aren't racist because they were taught never to use the "n" word, etc., but the reality is that they were still taught stereotypes at home, whether their parents used nicer language or not, and racist they remain. They are just quieter about it and therefore also more self-righteous about it as well. I live in a VERY racist area of the country and am sickened often by the duplicity of those who claim they aren't racist when I know they are. I've kicked people out of my home for refusing to keep their racial ephitats to themselves, so many think simply because I am white I will automatically agree with them. Grrrrrrrrr......

People who stay mainly in their own ethnic group tend to only have a television view on other races and lets face it...on TV white people are always well off (people seem to forget a large portion are POOR), black people are either lonely top execs or ex cons, Asians are grocery store owners or cooks (not to mention Asian men are positively sexless in the media), and Latins...are they on TV?

I think the question should be: Why are Americans so racist?

Because they lack any kind of culture or spirit. Black people are the heart of the human race and white people are the mind. White people are heartless and that's why they are racist. That's also why you find more black people who believe in God then you do whites. God is love and only those who know love can truly be close to God. Every race has people who sabotage. George Bush is a great example of a gansta who kills for money. White people accept it because he claims to be Christian. So since he kills people and allows buildings and **** to be blown up with innocent people and white people accept this crap, does that mean he is teaching other white people how to hate themselves?Condoleeza Rice is a great example of someone who is teaching black people how to hate themselves. Don't get me wrong I am all for educating the black community and ending oppression, I hate ghetto crap. Black people are people of God, whatever anger and aggression you see is the treatment whites have given them over the years reflected back in themselves and with their people. Next time you as a white person open your mouth and accuse a black person of teaching you how to hate them, remember your ancestry and really ask yourself was it really black people that taught you how to hate them? We all need to come together and resolve the past but until we acknowledge the truth, racism will continue. True untiy within ourselves means using our mind to follow our heart, lets unify the human race.

Another solution is to have babies until we are all one race ;-).

all people are racist. i used to walk to work and was called a 'flat bootied white bi tch' almost everyday. had coke bottles thrown at me....walked two blocks.
every race is bigoted in some measure. it's sad, but true. you are, too, or you would have never asked the question.....why are WHITE people so racist? it would have been just People.......to quote Mr. King...."Can't we all just get along?"
