I used to consider myself Republican.....
That was back in the day when I was caught up in the whole idea of our country being a place where things were left or Right (notice the capital "R" LOL).
I now consider myself a Libertarian. Please don't confuse Libertarian with liberal (notice the lower case "l" YAH!).
A Libertarian will tell you that less government is better government.Government should be like your internal organs....if it's working correctly you won't even know it's there.
I'm absolutely in love with the Republican theory that fewer taxes means econic growth (it really does work!).
I can't argue with the Republican idea that a strong defense budget is in our best interest.
However I find the Republicans lacking when it comes to funding education. You won't find a better investment of our tax dollars than education! Just think of how those smart kids (our future!) can turn this country around! As much as I love(d) George W....I think it's in our best interest as a nation to have a more eloquent spokesman for our people.
This nation is too polarized! We need to get back to the concepts that our forebears held dear!

Well, you ask a good question, whydothedumboutnumberthesmart. First off, whydothedumboutnumberthesmart, I'd have to go with someone from the South, maybe, Alabama, or Texas (why not?). The South produces the brightest, unbiased, pragmatic thinkers of our time.
You see, whydothedumboutnumberthesmart, it doesn't really matter. If not a single person voted in the popular election in this country, someone would still get elected. So, whydothedumboutnumberthesmart, it's rather a pointless question.
But, and that's a big but whydothedumboutnumberthesmart, I have a picture of Sen. John McCain in my Hope Chest.

McCain or Chuck Hagel. Both were served in the military, know military law, respect the Geneva Conventions. Both think about things, have integrity, follow principles are conservative Republicans and therefore electable.

Definately Rudy Guliani. He has already proved that he can run a huge area and he has delt with a lot of problems excellently. I would concider the best president if he won.
