I am wondering if anyone has washing instructions to get the excess dye out so they do not rub off onto other clothing, couches, etc,

try washing them in white vinegar first...it will also help to soften them up

If you are buying quality jeans they shouldn't rub off on anything! Just wash them a couple times and they should be fine!

Wash them (by itself) first before wearing them. You can wash it with other articles of clothing after the first wash.

Wash 'em with dark clothes.

always wash them before wearing them in cold water with like colors. where is your mother?
