When you have realized that you are responsible for someone else's feelings, and the happiness of your spouse. I can think of a million things you can do for your husband/wife, that is unaccounted for. But, that shouldn't matter. What matters is that you are both happy with how you handle what you give and receive. Your spouse is not a psychic, they do not know if what they are doing is right or not, so you may have to tell them if you are always giving, and they keep receiving with nothing in return. COMMUNICATION!!!!!

I think a marriage is all give. Appreciate what you receive but give your all and don't look to receive anything. When both partners can do that together then you have a wonderful relationship.

It should be that way from day one if it's a good marriage. You should always just give give give. If you're with the right person they'll do the same and you won't have to worry about what you get back. If you don't get anything back...you need counseling or a new mate!

When you decide thats whats going to happen.

Don't keep score though. Just give unselfishly simply because you want to love, cherish and care for her. The rest will come on its own.

Don't think its not work though. You really have to make a concerted effort to do that, especially when you walk in the front door from work and are immediately assaulted with kids and problems.

I dont know. I think we are a society have gotten very selfish. We live in the " it's all about me" era. I would like ot think that marriage is a give and take and at sometimes we take more than we give and other times we give more than we take and it all balances out.

It should be 50/50 at all times. Sometimes when you give more than receive it can turn against you.
