Kitty - I certainly do not appreciate your comment. How is finding a southern name shallow and "twitty" as you call it, when we are from the south? Would it be shallow and twitty for a person of french decent to want a french sounding name for their child? or someone of Irish heritage picking an irish sounding name? People do this ALL the time. And in terms of me being "twitty" I am 3 credits shy of a doctoral degree and graduated summa *** laude from an ivy league institution...but, you probably don't even know what those big words mean. You are just prejudiced towards southerners, is all. You're reported.

I'm from Georgia, too! Well, I've moved around quite a bit, but I now live in Georgia. How about Alpharetta? (LOL...just kidding. This will be especially funny to you if you live north of Atlanta. hee hee) Seriously, I love the name Virginia (I was born and raised in VA.) Charlotte, Kathryn, Grace, Jane. (These are all family names on my side...we like to stick to our traditional southern names, too. :)) For boys, I can't think of any names relating to Georgia, but I know Austin (TX) is a popular and normal name with southern boys. Hmm...I'm really stuck on this one. I'm sorry. If I think of any more, I'll post an addendum.

I have always loved the name Caroline. I think it is a very southern sounding name. I also love Scarlet, for obvious reasons, heehee! I'm a southern girl all the way, too! I loved your response to that crazy lady! She's probably from the north, LOL. Just because we talk slow doesn't mean we're stupid!

Well your profile name of "Dixie" is certainly a good one. But you could also consider some combination of Delta, Camilla, Dakota, Marietta, Marion, Selma, Florence, Adel, Vesta, Emmalane...all good Georgia names.

Delta Emmalane has a nice ring...or Dakota Adel...or for that matter, how about Georgia as the middle name for any of the above?

Have a happy baby

I have a great source of baby names for you. People always think that I am kidding when I tell them this but we use the phone book. Buying baby name books is a complete waste of money when the phone book is free and has thousands of names in it from all over. I lived in a major city when we named our middle child. Believe me when I tell you that it kept me busy for a long time because that phone book must have weighed 12 pounds!
