The Bare Minerals Starter Kit is such a great buy! Make sure you ask a sales clerk at Sephora to help pick out the right kit with the right shades for you. I bought a starter kit last year and I still haven't finished using the Warmth (bronzer) that came with it (I'm fair skinned so I can't use that much, lol). The Starter Kit lasted 3-4 months for me. You shouldn't be using a whole lot of the powders when you apply it. It's definately worth the cost because I will never use another brand of makeup.
ps: My skin is a hard shade to match and only the Bare Minerals foundation matches it perfectly, covers up my acne scars, improves my skin, and doesn't clog my pores! How could it not be worth a try?!

As a professional makeup artist for over 20 years I highly recommend a different brand. Bare Minerals is packed with its main ingredient BISMUTH this is arsenic lead that occurs naturally in the soil and will irritate your skin and make it very itchy as it will clog your pores and create break outs. The best in mineral makeup that I have found that DOES NOT CONTAIN BISMUTH is Bee Luscious Cosmetics Liquid Minerals you will have an easy and flawless application everytime and it sets to a powdery soft finish that will last 8-12 hours no touch ups the other problem with bare minerals is it will not last past 2-3 hours tops and flakes off easily leaving no coverage and all day re-application. Its really a waste of money and so expensive for what it is.

Hello,
I love Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals foundation!! I am very experienced with make up and have tried many brands of foundation - Lancome, Chanel, Bobbi Brown...and none have come close in quality comparison.
If you use the product correctly it will DEFINATELY be worth the cost, as it does last. I use two shades and mix them - in the summer, a little more of the daker shade; in the winter a little more of the lighter. Great results and I haven't purchased a new containter of the stuff in three months (considering I use two).
But then again, it depends on your budget. The product will last as long as any other product; so, if the Bare Minerals price is close to what you're already spending then I think it's a good purchase.

Bare Minerals is like the best out there. It depends on how much make-up u use and what kit u buy. Go to http://www.bareminerals.com/kits_bm4.html for a list off all that they offer right now. Also when u are @ Sephora ask an employee to help you.

I bought the starter kit. The colors run VERY light. I bought one shade lighter than the darkest they sell and it it WAY too light. My coloring is similar to Jennifer Lopez. I gave it to a friend with lighter skin. On her the color was o.k. (although I thought it looked too powdery) and in 2 hours it looked as if she had no makeup on at all. It really faded away fast. We were both disappointed with the product.

i love this stuff, i have been using it for about 7 or 8 yrs, it does take a couple of applications before you really figure it out for yourself, but it is great stuff and worth the money and it does last a really long time.
