In our culture goat milk is rarely drunk but perhaps other cultures favor goats or it is used for non-human purposes such as animal fertilizer. To answer this question you need a global perspective rather than the quick "Milk-Cow" response of Americans.

Probably. Think about it. Goats are much hardier than cows and can survive and thrive in worse conditions. They are smaller and use less resources. They are cheaper to buy and feed. They can climb rocky areas to find more forage. Their milk is actually better for humans than cow milk, and makes great cheese. They can even defend themselves better from predators.

I would say that it is true because goats dont produce as much milk as a cow so it would probably take 3 or 4 goats to produce the milk a cow does, and many of the very populated asian countries use goat milk rather than cow's.

Cows cost a lot to care for. Goats are very hardy, inexpensive to feed and care for, and goat milk - while I don't like the taste of it personally - is still just as nutritious. It's also used in making everything from cheeses to soaps and lotions. Cow milk will spoil if used in cosmetics, so I'm sure the beauty industry has something to do with your figures. Also, while I am a firm supporter of breastfeeding, cow's milk causes allergic reactions in many infants and is difficult for them to digest. Goat's milk is often used as a substitute for cow's milk with babies for this reason also.
