I love plants, trees, rocks, etc, but I have no landscaping skills, so I will have to pay someone to do it for me I guess. My backyard is not big, but has room for patio set (with 4 chairs). I want too add some life to it. Any ideas?

I suggest you go to your local library and look for books about landscaping and gardening. That will give you some ideas. Also check out bhg.com (better homes & gardens) for ideas. They have garden plans that are all laid out and easy to follow. Remember, the fun is in the doing, so start small and plant some things you like, don't try to do too much too quickly. Just do it!
Start with a flowering shrub, a couple of perennial flowers and a birdbath, and soon you'll be in paradise. Plants that are native to your area will be the easiest to grow and will be best for the local wildlife. There's lots of info on the web. Just remember, it's your backyard and there is no right or wrong, so do what you like and experiment. If something doesn't work, you can try something else. The important thing is to start small and don't create something that gets out of control (that was my mistake - too much at once). A garden takes the most work in the first year or two, then it starts to take care of itself, more or less. So you don't want to set yourself up for a lot of weeding and watering right off the bat.

go to your local library and look up gardening and landscaping books. There are some really good ones wit plans for what flowers grow best in your area. Most landscaping can be done in a weekend if you give yourself a reasonable project. ie DON"T attempt to put in a fish pond with waterfall or a stone path the first time your try.
There are several books that will be on a beginner level and you cna save your self a LOT of money if you do it yourself.
PLus it will give you lots of ideas and you don't waste as much money by doing something that you end up hating.

A circular garden, with natural rocks. A Recirculating Fountain in the center would be great, but needs electricity. A safe grounded outlet.
Just a bird bath would add to it.
For the garden, remove as much grass as you can, then lay a sheet of Viscuine, plastic, fill with top soil. Add a statue and some artificial frogs or so. Add a bird feeder. Yard art if you like.

Hang something on the wall or the fence. Like a piece of metal scrollwork or a fountain from the hardware store. If you don't have much of a green thumb, why not buy some large plants in pot and arrange them in the yard? You can rearrange them, take thm inside for the winter, etc.

Wow I can answer this one! It depends on your tastes but I would put a swimmin hole in the back yard right next to recycled truck tire that you can use for a planter and what yard would be complete without an antique beer sign hanging from a tree.

Well, if you got kids, a pool or a trampoline would be greatfor them. Definatly trees and flowers. Possibly a pond. But you'd might wanna see a landscaper for it.

well just form what you have in
maybe put the rocks around your tree's trunks (like to circle it around the tree).
adding things like bird baths, bird feeders hanging from tree branches, and maybe statues of animals.
