I know it seems scary to talk to her about it but maybe it might help if you start talking about it now. Ask some questions. Tell her you are nervous. I think you will find that she felt the same way when she was your age.

Well I'm surprised that your mom hasn't brought this matter up to you in the first place. I would just hope that your mom will be there for you when you become a woman. Just go up to you mom and say,"Mom we need to go and buy some essentials for me could you help me choose which one." Of course you mom is going to be like what kind of essentials then just go ahead and explain to her that you have started your period and we need to go and get some WOMENLY ESSENTIALS..Good Luck

It just depends. It's not always easy to tell your mom things like this. Although it should be. You should be able to tell anything. But, apparently you aren't comfortable. Be sure to tell her when nobody else is around. Because when I told my mom, she walked out of the bathroom went back into the living room and told all of her friends. I wanted to die, and I regretted telling her..
Anyways. Just be brave and trust her. She is your mom.

Hey mom, remember when you told me about my period, well, I need those sanitary napkins. That is the only way to tell her.
Feel lucky, my dad was home when I started mine.

Just tell her. She'll want to know to make sure that you have pads/tampons in the house. It won't be a big deal at all.
