I need to learn to drive stick but I don't know anyone who owns a car with one. I'm aware of how to drive it (have drove tractors) but need actual experience with it. Could I go to a dealership? or would it be better to rent a stick shift car for a week to learn how to drive it?

a rental car place wont let you drive it out if you cant even get it out of the parking space

call a driving school and see how much it will be for a few classes. if you already know how to drive, they might give you a good price break

Rent seems like a good idea... I can teach you, though if you teach me to drive automatic... Seriously :))) By the way, all the fun of driving is in driving stick shift, changing gears, etc... ;)

Why do you need to learn stick if you have no access to a stick shift vehicle?

it would be a good idea to rent one, but good luck...most rental car places have vehicles with auto transmissions.
