What types of discs are you using. TDK and Fuji usually work best for me. I had the same problem ur having using Sony and Magnavox before. You might also wanna try cleaning ur cd player.

It might depend on the brand, if you've switched it recently. Or maybe your settings have switched from audio burnings to data or mp3s. Double-check your settings and the CD brand-names. Also, you might try restarting the computer just before you burn a disc. Sometimes it needs a restart to get its little plastic brain back in order.

Well there is only ONE answer for ur case:
1.There are car CD Players who accept only factory recorded Audio CDR s.
2. There are car CD Players who work only with factory/user recorded Audio CDR s.
3. There are car CD Players who work only with factory/user recorded Audio (&mp3) CDR s.....and CD RW.
Probably u are in 1st case......thats why other type of CDs dont play.
If you wanna know more.....

in case you look on the circumstances on CD's you're allowed to burn one replica of them as a decrease back up for private use if your unique CD gets broken. So no you cant get booked except the officer is unaware of this fact.

i assume you already know you have to rip them from mp3's to cd files...after that i would say that the eye on your cd player is dirty or worn down...try a cd head cleaner on your cd player....i can also suggest that they are making downloaded songs difficult to burn to prevent copyrght infringement
