Is is possible the video card (not the Monitor) is overheating. If you have another monitor or access to one, plug it in. If the problem persists, it is the video card. If it goes away it is the monitor. As well you could take the monitor to another PC, and do the same test.

If it is the video card, is it really hot there at the moment? Most newer cards, also have a fan. Have you been hearing squealing sounds lately, that are still there, or have suddenly gone away (burnt out fan motor)

The only way to know for sure is the swap test mentioned above.

check the monitor cable and the power cable. Make sure they are well seated. Also, if you have a second computer, take the monitor and connect it to the 2nd computer. If no problem, then I think it might be the graphic card is needed to be replaced.

Or it could be a brown out in your living area.

It's possible that the driver for your video card has become corrupted. Try going to the website of the manufacturer (such as NVidea, or whatever), and then download and install the driver for your card again. That may take care of it.
