Golda Meyer did ok for Israel. Maggie Thatcher did good for UK. Indira Gandhi for India. Mary Robinson was a really good President of Ireland. Iceland has had a woman leader. Could ANY woman be as bad as the cowboy who is riding the range and the states just now?

Well, it depends on the woman.

I assume you are talking about the office of President of the United States.

I do not think Hillary Clinton has what it takes. Character matters and she has proven time and again that her opinions are governed strictly by political gain rather than by an internal moral fabric that she may (or may not) have.

On the other hand, I think Condoleeza Rice would be an excellent President. The best part is that my support of Dr. Rice has nothing to do with her gender nor her race. I believe she is simply the best qualified for the job.

I think it is time we give a woman a chance. Why not because us men seem to be doing nothing but fighting amongst ourselves all the time. Maybe a woman could settle some stuff. I know my mom has always been great at stepping in and settling things without beating the ... out of us like my dad.

There are plenty of women who hold offices in this country's government. I assume you mean "the" office of president. Depending on the candidate, we may or may not be better off. Personally, I don't think the population is ready to elect a female president yet.

Yes. I think our government can benefit from a woman's point of view. I'm not saying man doesn't do just as good a job. I think that instead of one president why not have two that work together as a team. There would be one man and one woman co-presidents. They of course couldn't be married to each other. I think that this would be a great union of leaderships. This way there can be two points of view from two different perspectives. They would have to both agree for a decision to be made. Can you imagine?

Nope, this country isn't ready to accept a woman president yet, anymore than it's willing to accept a non-white president. I don't think many guys would willingly accept a woman in charge of the country right now, as sexist as it sounds.

Maybe in 50 years if things go downhill fast, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I don't think it matters. The presidency has it's cabinet members and they make all the decisions anyway. The president is only there to take the heat and read speeches that someone else has written.

It depends. IF that women could act cool under pressure in a emergency. And they would have to meet the criteria for a presidential role.
