There are only really drugs and exercise that alleviate the symptons - there really is no cure as such. Glucosamine helps to keep the cartilage intact. You can run different courses of drugs prescribed by your doctor and I see that aspirin has been mentioned - anti-inflammatorys such as nurofen (Ibrubrofen) also help.

You might want to go to www.kneeguru.co.uk which is a discussion website and talking to other people might help you find the right thing.

Exercise will also help and low impact ones especially (swimmimg is good for everything).

Good Luck

I used to have horrendous arthritis. At it's worst I could not sleep for more than a few hours and it would take me over an hour to get out of bed. A friend suggested I give up coffee. It Worked !!!!

I cut down the coffee over a period of about 5 weeks as coffee withdrawal is the pits. Then I had no coffee whatsoever from then on. The difference is astounding! I know many people who have given up coffee with equally amazing results and only one to whom it made no difference.

Give it a go, what have you got to lose?

All the best

It is a treatment often prescribed by practitioners of Ayurvedic Medicine.

Yes, but you probably won't like it.

Weight-bearing exercise will alleviate arthritis pain in knees. The problem with this is that you have to keep it up. Something most people have trouble with.
