I looked up boxelder bug. Unfortunately the picture is not the bug in my home.

Sounds like a boxelder bug. About 1/2 inch in length and they fly and crawl both. You have boxelder tree nearby. Once it's cut down or cold outside you won't see them, but rest assured, they'll be back!!!
They don't bite or anything, basically harmless, just creepy!
