Although I live and die with the Detroit Tigers, I do consider myself a Cubbies fan. I wear my Cubs hat quite often.

Too many because the Cubs simply do not deserve the following they have. Year after year they let their fans down by losing and losing. Chicago fans deserve better. Their loyalty and devotion to the Cubs amazes me, yet they are great fans for sticking with their club, win or lose.

There are a fair share of Cub fans (which I feel sorry for since I am a St. Louis Cardinal fan and they are doing better than the Cubs).

They do have a solid fan base but they also have a lot of fair weather fans who make it much harder for an everyday baseball fan to take their fanbase seriously as a whole. The Tribune company is well aware that they do not need to contend to sell tickets and they excercise that option a lot. Not saying they want to lose but they arent concerned with winning. They buy players in the offseason then sell them when they drop out of contention knowing they always will be able to turn a profit.

and what's with these people saying they have 5 fans...just cause they really suck (which they do, even though they do have future hopes) doesn't stop them from having one of the largest fan bases in MLB

i am i will always love the cubs it not the hitting is why they are losing it is becuase they need better pitchers i think it is time to say good bye to mark prior and kerry wood they are always hurt i think if they were fine during the season the cubs record would be alot better
