How can I get hired for this job?

I would wait a few days, then call the company to ask if anyone has had a chance to review your application, and if so, when would you be able to come in for an interview? The simple fact that you're following through on the application will put you way ahead of the average person that fills in the application and is never heard from again. My husband has a business, and he's always impressed by people who seem genuinely interested in working for him.

Good luck!

Send thank you letters to any and all you met there. NOW!

Then follow-up by phone in about 3 days and again in 1 week.

Persistence can win this for you. I'd even stop by in person and show your interest. Tell them what you told us...you really want a job there and would be interested in any position that they might be able to use you.

You can't really push too hard because as of right now, you don't have anything to lose.

Go get that job!

Try to find out who the hiring manager is for the department you applied for..see if you can get her fax or email address and email your resume to her. HR job is to screen you out. Follow up w/the hiring manager at least 2 days after emailing to see if he/she received your resume, then ask if you can set up an interview. Tell him or her what you can do FOR them..

you need to take the initiative. I am assuming you interviewed as well as just submitting the application, if so you need to drop off a letter thanking them for the time, call the receptionist and ask for proper spelling of the people's names you talked to.
If you haven't interviewed call and try to get one set up, then follow the advice above.
