Your gettng the two ideas mixed up and using them in improper context. Love is blind means, doesnt matter who when or where, we cannot forsee it happening, or love is blinding, means we do things for love that we would not usually do. Love at first sight means you instantly fall in love the moment you see them. This could support the idea that love is blind as it could chose anyone at any given moment.

however, i still dont believe in these ideas. I believe love at first site is when someone gets a gut feeling this person is special, however, falls in love later on after they get to know them, then they believe it was love at first site. Just my take.

MrToPhat: Internet dating creates oppurtunities, isnt the essense of going to the bar/club/parties to hook up relatively similar. Only difference is visual, however with developing tech, webcams and mics are not uncommon. Internet dating is possible and there have been successes

Well, I think it's a blend of love and lust, or perhaps more appropriately, misplaced lust. At least in previous generations, there was a lot more time between that first meeting and doing the nasty -- for you youngsters out there, it's called "courtship." Anyway, the concept of love at first sight is certainly a possibility, born of lust -- you want the other person, and although most of you at that moment wants them physically, you interpret your physical attraction as a sudden, heartfelt conviction that you were meant to be together, and that you'll do anything for them (you don't even realize that you're really willing to anything just to get into their pants, but you're hoping that will just come later after you've bought them flowers and sung them sappy love songs under their window at night)

I don't really believe love is blind either; but exactly the opposite -- love sees whats lust does not. You can love someone physically ugly if you understand who they are on the inside and come to respect them as a person. Love at first sight doesn't really take personality or lifestyle into account.

That's a damn good question. I believe in love at first sight but looking at your question I have to wonder a little on that now as I also believe that love can be blind aswell. I guess they could kinda be contradictions but if you look at it my way they both still could work. I think that it is still possible to fall in love with a person by simply a glance but I think where the 'blind' apares is that we can not see their faults/unkindness untill they have managed to brake our hearts.
Lust, well, I don't think that that could ever be mistaken for love ;o)

It all depends on the person. If your're a teenager and your hormones/testosterone is ragging then it's more than likely just lust. A much more mature person, depending on age, could possibly fall in love 'at first sight' and end up with that person for the rest of their life.

Yes i really think it is lust at first sight. But I probably should completely rule out love at first sight just because i haven't experienced it.

Love is blind. yet there is not any longer some thing like marriage to open your eyes. We believe in love before everything sight because charm occurs with out delay. Blind because we can't see the interior the different human being.

Love is blind, but lust has the eyes bugging out like in an old Bugs Bunny cartoon.

Lust at first sight, yes, but not love, that's something that develops over time!

It's not love at first sight, it's lust.
