I just got back from a 10 night/11 day stay at the Walt Disney World Resort, just me and my boyfriend, and it cost us over $10,000 (not including flights.)

It really just depends on what you are looking for and the age of the child. It could range from less to $1000 to several thousand dollars. It depends on where you stay, how long, transportation, tickets, what you include, etc.
AAA would be able to get you a discount, but they can also cause a lot of problems. For example, if a better discount comes out (which is likely, if it isn't already out for your dates) that is better than the AAA discount, unless you know about it and ask, they won't change your reservation. If you get an agent that specializes in Disney, they will automatically do this, book dinings, etc. My suggestion, would be to book with a travel agent that specializes in Disney. In the long run, they will likely save you money over booking with AAA or doing it yourself, and they will take away the headaches and worries that can come along with booking the vacation.
I hope this helps!

If you are planning on going only to the Disney parks, (and not Universal or any other attractions) I would suggest staying at one of the Disney resorts. (look online to find one to match your tastes and budget) If you stay on property, you can use the Disney Magical Express. This is a shuttle service that takes you from the airport right to the resort. Once at the resort, you can get anywhere you want on the Disney transportation system. This includes buses, boats, and the monorail. (buses run to every resort). This will save the cost of renting a car.
Book you resort & purchase park admission tickets through the Disney website. However, think carefully about the park hopper option. It allows entrance into more than one park per day. (we never use this, as there is so much to do at each park we could stay in each one for a week!) The one park that usually closes earlier is Animal Kingdom. On the day that we visit that park, we usually also go to Downtown Disney (there is no admission, but you will spend money, as this is all shops and restaurants)
As far as air fare, you can book this through Disney also, but I have found it cheaper to go directly to an airlines website to purchase tix.
you don't give the age of your child, but whatever the age, make sure you go to Downtown Disney just to go to the Lego store. Outside the store there are all sorts of GIANT models made from Legos. (I am 44, my son 25 and we are always fascinated by this)
One thing that I think is worth the expense is a character meal. Again you can look online to find one that fits your preferences. We always do at least one when we are there. It is a little expensive, especially if you are not big eaters as most character meals are buffets, but it is worth the cost to see the kid's reaction to the characters coming right to THEIR table! (Unless your child is small and frightened by the size of the characters)
My son and I are going next month. For the 2 of us to stay at a value resort for 5 nights, have 6 days admission to the parks was roughly $950. about another $300 for airfare. (after I booked the price actually went down-and like an idiot I took non refundable tix-oh well, at least i got them) We are getting the dining plan for free, so that is one expense we won't have. Otherwise I would figure roughly $45.00 per person per day. (that would include a couple of restaurant meals-you can go cheaper and just get like burger& fry combos for like $12. each.
Good luck!

Depending on if you want the park hopper passes or the one park day pass only. Also how much souvenirs you plan on buying, food, etc... But for the tickets here is the Disney page that you can have fun with and find out the exact prices for tickets (tax is 7% here in FL) http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/tickets/ticketStore?id=TicketStorePage&numAdults=2&numChildren=1&country=USA&stateProvince=NV&numDays=1
If you are going to rent a car or plan on seeing more of the city then I wouldn't buy souvieners at Disney, you could get nearly the same samethings at cheaper locations off of International Drive or US192. Also with food you are allowed to bring in coolers of food just no glass countainers into the parks, it would save tons of money, even if it is only a few drinks and snack foods (check with a cast member if there are any more restrictions as to bringing food in).
Have fun and enjoy your trip!

We went in April, and we did one of those Time Share ordeals and we stayed 6 nights at a 5 star hotel for $200. Then we got a discount on our park tickets and such. Also, you spand a lot when you are in the parks such as food and drinks. We would go early, come back and eat and maybe nap and then go back at 5:00pm and left when the park closed at 9 or 10. So check with Westgate resorts if you want to do that and give them a Ref # their Phone # is..800-375-7828 ref # 3247967003...good luck

It can cost at least several thousand dollars, and it's getting more expensive all the time. Talk to a travel agent to see if you can get a package deal somewhere.

Kids two and under get in the parks for free- how old is your child? how many adults? i went in march and took my four kids by myself and the trip cost about 3500- we stayed four nights and did three parks- im guessing your trip would cost less.
