whoa....... 1. you'll probably get a change after one visit, just make sure you don't go in too long and get burnt! 2. I would say around 5-7 visits depending on the strength of the bulbs at the tanner you're going to. 3. Tanning beds give you a comparable tan. 4. I would always tan in the sun if I had time! You can always do both. 5. Tans from a bed last a while once you have been regularly going I would say about a week before you are going back to normal. 6. Nothing really happens after you tan in either place except that it eventually will wear off or if you get burnt it will peel off. Thats why you have to go fairly regularly and for appropriate amounts of time.

Tanning is VERY unhealthy! How could anything possibly be healthy for you if its exposing you to the harmful UV rays that are diagnosing half of America with skin cancer??? Wouldn't you want to help yourself rather than hurting yourself???Especially if you go to tanning beds and things like that, because all your really doing is baking your skin for a disastrous meal! I know tanned bodies look really good, especially in the summer time, with the sun glistening off the specks of water on your body when just stepping out of the pool... oh sorry *smilez* BUT, you can still get that same exact look without going thru the harmful skin damaging process. What could do this??? The self tanning lotions of course! It requires NO sun or harmful UV rays! So say hurray for saving your skin!!! Although you may not see instant results, you still have to stay committed to it so that the results will gradually appear over time!

Go hear and read up, I read an article in Glamor about the affects of the sun causing skin cancer and was modified, especially since most people are exposed before 18 and being 27 and use to tan w/ Crisco (the 90's) I am praying that I never get it, now I always cover up w/ suntan lotion and Double up on my babies. Also your are suppose to put it on 15min before leaving home and your SPF should depend on what your doing that day AND you should reapply every few hours. Protect yourself I know how you feel, I look like a ghost and I'm a hottie w/ a tan (my hubby says so) But I use a tanning lotion, he would much rather have me healthy, plus he still thinks I'm hot! LOL! ;)

it's very unhealthy, it causes skin cancer & it also makes your skin age prematurely (so you'll be all wrinkly at a younger age). If you tan in the sun it isn't as bad as the beds BUT the same risks still apply, but the sun also gives you vitiamins(just don't stay out in it long). The safest way to tan is to get a professional spray on tan.

It depends. You need sunlight to survive because thats where you get a lot of vitamins (like Vitamin D). So it is healthy to get a little bit of sun every day. However, frying in a tanning bed for 20 min everyday is taking it WAY to far! Excessive tanning increases your risk of skin cancer.

I can't really talk tho because I go tanning every once in awhile but at least I ain't orange lol.

Very unhealthy. Unless it's a spray tan (they have them at tanning places) or a tan you buy in a bottle!!

yes tanning is not a good thing because it can cause skin cancer, it makes you look older and gives you wrinkles. you have to use sunscreen and use it 15 minutes before you step out of the sun so that it becomes effective.

my great aunt used to lay out in the sun all day every day of summer. now she has skin like leather, skin cancer, and is not allowed to be in direct sunlight at all.
so, if you want to tan a lot, this is what you have to look forward to.
...however, 15 minutes of direct sunlight everyday gives you your daily vitamin D intake. just don't bake in it.
