I wouldn't go to Claire's - the 'piercers' are all inexperienced young girls. They're not even piercers - they're cashiers. The guns they use are also very unsanitary and can cause infection if not used properly. I'd wait until you can go to a real piercer.

Edited to add: I just got a cartiledge piercing and a conch piercing last Friday night. The cartiledge was a re-piercing. The first time I got it pierced was at Claire's and it was crooked (in at an angle) and took forever to heal. The piercing I just had done doesn't hurt at all anymore, and with the sea salt soakings looks better at one week then it did at 6 weeks after Claire's.

Claires is fine. Just remember you have to buy the earrings for the piercing.

Sure, I got mine peirced in the mall w/ no problems. But i didn't go to Claire's, I went to the Piercing Pagoda. You can try there, if you want. They do the piercing for free w/ the cost of the earring. My mom and sister got theirs pierced there, too.

i would advise against it and wait until you can go to a piercing parlor. In order to use properly sanitized equipment, you need to make sure the piercing item (needle, gun, whathaveyou) is individually wrapped, opened in front of you, and the piercer washed his/her hands and is wearing gloves. This is really the only sure-fire way of knowing everything is in good, sanitary condition. claire's only rubs down the piercing gun with isopropyl alcohol. also, the stud is dull and can injure the ear, causing infection and lobe splitting.

also, the gun hurts way worse than a needle, trust me.

yeah i got my ear pierced there and it was all good, however don't use the fake jewlery, they have a special case with the real stuff in it. And make sure you get some ear care antiseptic they give it for free with the purchase of the piercing. other than that they are fine. make sure the equipment useed is sterile and if you don't think they did it properly then have them clean it in front of you.

My daughter had her ears pierced at Claire's with no problem. So, I'd say yes, go ahead. They have certified piercers there.

F*CK NO!!! if im correct they still use a piercing gun at claires... if you wana get your cartiledge done this is potentially dangerous as it can make you cartiledge callapse! you will b much better goin to a proper piercist as it is their livlihood and they will be able to answer all your questions. i have had 16piercings all over my body and so know quite a bit about it as i reseach well into it... plz go to a professional piercer or u may regret it.

Do not go to Claire's. My daughter went there and her ear ring holes were too low and split her ears.

Go to a doctor.
