You question can be answered with a simple supply and demand curve. There is a huge demand for some singers, actors, models, etc. and a very limited supply, therefore the curve dictates a higher price. Conversely, there is a huge supply of dustbin men and a very low demand, thus a low price.
The question ignores the fact that there is actually a huge supply of actors that are not in demand, thus they fit in nicely with the dustbin men curve. The same can be said from every catagory of worker.

Last time I checked doctors are one of the highest paid professions. :-)
Teachers get low pay because of supply and demand: there are enough people willing to work for $30k or $40k a year why should school districts pay more? And the more they pay the teacher, the higher taxes go. Right now I'm being forced to relocate somewhere cheaper, partly due to higher & higher property taxes. My own income doesn't go up. Min wage doesn't go up. So it's just not possible to pay them $100,000 a year when an average person like me can't afford triple the property taxes.
No idea why singers and actors get millions. I personally think it's crazy, but I don't control the market.

The trio you mentioned above - singers, actors, models etc -once they are well established, they set their own salary. They do not have a fixed salary as teachers, doctors, dustbin men, liers(Oops ~lawyers) and the likes do.
They go and perform for an audience say, and charge per head - and get a certain percentage of the money for that night or performance. At other times, they charge whatever they charge - wait until it is deposited on their account and then afterwards go and perform.

Most singers and actors work as waitresses. Very few become famous. Many when they do, some like Angelina Jolie, gives 1/3 of their income to charity, which is much more than any millionaire Republican!
I don't cry for Md's. Most make a lot of money!!
Athletes are others who are WAY overpaid as was our current Sec of Treasury, who came from Wall street with a 168 Million a year salary. Sorry, no one is worth that amount of money!

It's what the market will stand.
But very few actors are famous and most of us are on the dole most of the time.
I'm fortunate to be in work all the time but nobody here will have heard of me and I don't earn as much as a teacher.
Do not assume we're all swanning around in limos with crocodile shoes and a cigarette on the end of a holder.
Besides there's a lot of worse people making much more money out of unpleasant things.
Drugs.
Arms dealing.
Prostitution.
The list is long.
Actors and singers don't usually hurt people.
Pick on someone else!

Simple economics. Some entertainers are paid millions to appear because millions of people will pay to see them. Teachers, garbage men, etc. do not produce a tangible product for people to buy, although their services are valuable nonetheless. I agree some people are overpaid and some are underpaid. If it bothers you so much, and you want to do something about it, next time you think about going to a movie or buying a CD, give the money to your garbage man or your kids' teacher instead.

Singers, actors, models ect. make more money for their employers than teachers, doctors and dustbin men so they get paid a higher salary.

I have pondered that very same question myself. Being a teacher that works with 16 4yr olds every day, I know I don't get paid enough. It makes me crazy that some one who memo rises lines of can catch a ball gets paid millions. Its our own fault, we pay to see them in movies, concerts, and on the field.

Economics. Millions of people pack theaters, concerts, and retail outlets to pay to see an artist.
Teachers, cops, firefighters, etc. are all civil servants. We collectively pay for them. I wouldn't mind upping their salary -- take a little more out of my check. Goes for the military too. They all work their asses off. The government wastes money every day on worse things.
