I'm no expert - but it seems to me as if they are "mis-interpreting" the Quran. The Muslim religion IS peaceful. The extremeists have simply twisted it to suit their own purposes.
Kind of like the Catholics (I am one) did during the Inquisition.

Yes and no. They are reading the wrong things into the Quran. Muslims in general are pacifists, but these extremists have translated their holy book to mean whatever they want it to -"Jihad", or "Holy war", is described in the Quran as a war in God's name, meant to protect the Islamic way of life if it is seen to be under threat. Thats the problem with religion. It leaves room for too much ambiguity.

Not all Muslims are extremists or terrorists & not all terrorists are Muslims.

I think these people are hell bent on destruction & death, and would twist anything round to suit their purpose, whether it be the Quran or anything else.

There are good & bad in every group of people, whatever nationality, race, religion or whatever. It just so happens that we are all hearing that these terrorists are all Muslim. I sympathise with the majority of Muslims, who, no doubt, are peace-loving people, being pulled together under the umbrella of terrorism without their critics having reasonable cause to do so.

The Koran hasn't changed. There may be some who have become victims of misinterpretation and manipulation. Not entirely surprising, viewing the bad press that Islam has had over the last 150 years (at least).
I suggest a brief look at the history of Christianity. Same growth of hatred, same divisions, same belief that it is the only true religion. Much like today. Only God-fearing Christians like Bush and Blair know what's good for the world. God help them!

Have you actually read the quran? I have, and suggest you do the same before asking a question like this. This religion was forged in blood by its prophet. Not later followers, not radicals, not extremists, but by the founder.

We cannot blame all the Muslims or even the majority of them The Muslim citizens want peace as much as we do and it is wrong to blame them.

The terrorists are unique unto themselves and causing chaos for their own people as well as the rest of the world.

I am neutral, but I think these extremists are answering the call to fight against Israel and her backers, the US and Britain. They are willing to die because of years of suppression toward their moslem brothers, Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, among others.
