The sound is a rotational sound, as the wheels turn. I don't hear it as soon as I go over idle. Any suggestions on what it could be? It's a 98 Malibu. Thanks

If the noise goes away, this is normal brake noise for this vehicle. I see a lot of these cars come in the dealership for this concern. Usually if there is a brake problem, the noise will continue reguardless of weather or driving condition. Todays brake assemblies are made of much different materials than they used to be. Some noise like this is considered normal by General Motors. If the noise is constant or happens all the time I would get the brakes inspected, they may need replaced.

Well malibu's has a problem with the brake pads making a squiling noise, but i'm not sure if that's what your describing.
A wheel bearing would make a roaring noise.
Now if your model has a break wear indicator, that is the only thing i could think of that would be causing a squeak.
Check breaks first.

it is comen for brakes to rust overnight. I wouldnt be to overly concerned. why do they rust well its bare metel and it rusts when the brakes cool of and condense. If the noise goes away after a moment or two thats fine if it continues then yes have them looked at. Also depending on the situation it could be just a little dust left over from prior braking and since the speed is slow its hasnt had a chance to clean the pads off yet. Or the little hamster is just waking up and his is cussing you because its to early

verify the tightness of the lug-nuts. additionally, if the motor vehicle kinda shudders once you improve up, perchance the squeak is coming from the hood stops. those are the rubber tipped bolts that help the corners of the hood while it extremely is closed. I doubt it extremely is something on the pads because of the fact it occurs "purely while accelerating." (pay interest human beings) yet you probably did in basic terms open and then close the hood and perchance it heavily isn't set down each and each of ways. attempt placing out and closing the hood back, do no longer slam it however, in basic terms close it firmly.

the brake rotors get rut on them from condensation over night once you hit your brakes several times it will go away dust also gets on them and will cause them to squeak thats all this is dont go spending money on wheel bearings or brake work that you dont need if your brakes are going bad they will squeak all the time you will hear it no matter how fast you go

That happened to my car and it turned out to be a cracked hub cap, i'd have a mechanic take them off, drive around the lot without them and see if it still makes the sound

Could be the front brake shoes with embedded metal shavings telling you it's time to think about a brake job.
