I don't think I would hire a 12 yr old babysitter. First of all because they don't know what they are doing at that age. I would not recommend you to hire a 12 yr old child to take care of your children. Look for someone responsible. :)

Well yes and no. If the 12 year old u know is responsible and youve known her for a long time, then yes. if youre the one who wants 2 babysit, maybe you should explain to the people u want 2 babysit 4 that youre responsible..and youve had a lot of experience. but dont lie, that makes u feel sorry 4 yourself. If youre hireing someone then make sure she/hes not a goofball espessially around your children. Before u babysit, u should baby-proof the house.

Personally I wouldn't. Then again, I'm not terribly sure how long I would leave a 12 year old home alone to begin with. I'm not sure that a 12 year old has enough maturity to know how to care for another person. I suppose it would depend on the 12 year old though.

Yes, but it definitely depends on the 12 yr old in question. How mature are they, what kind of experience do they have, and what kind of classes have they taken to become prepared for babysitting. My daughter is 12 and babysits, but she helps with her brother and sister, has been red cross trained and will only babysit people we already know.

when I was 12 years old I started babysitting the 10month old accros the street, but I had just taken the red cross babysitters couse, so that helped a lot, but it also depends on how mature the kid is too, and how old your kids are. I would see how he/she interacts with your kids when you are around, and then decide from there if you think that he/she can handle them alone

No I wouldn't. In some states it is not even legal to leave your child home alone till age 14. In those states 12 year olds aren't even allowed to babysit.

it depends how old the kid they are babysitting is, if the kid is yonger then 4 then no, but between 5-9 yea, older then 9 they are too close to the age of the babysitter, but i started babysitting at that age, i babysat a 7 year old

I am 13 and people hire me but I have been through Red Cross training so I know CPR and what to do when bad sitiations happen. Plus I am very responisible. If the 12 year old is responsible, I know them and I trust them then yes. if not then NO

I was nine when i babysat for the first time but those people knew me since i was 5 and i am 12 now and my neighbors have me or my sister babysit and they are okay with it but i hate little kids i just do it for the money. the kid was evil so i never want to babysit her again but i probally will have to.

I would think it depends!...If you know her family and how responsible she is than yes...but if shes just a random 12 year old then NO!..Also how old are the children she's babysitting?...Does she have any experience with infants?...Think about this cause it CAN help prevent a disaster!
