What is the best laundry detergent and fabric softener. I'm looking for something where the smell stays on the fabric. Good smells please! I like Gain so far but if you have anyother ideas, let me know! Thanks! :)

I'm not big on dryer sheets either. I only use them to prevent static. I always use liquid softener too. I use all three!

I'm not a housewife, but I adore "Tide Simple Pleasures Vanilla & Lavender" and the matching "Downy Simple Pleasures Vanilla & Lavender." They're wonderful!
You can get a free sample of each one here: https://tidedownysp.offerprocessingcenter.com/

The BEST fabric softener I've found is Downy with Febreze (with the purple cap) it smells really good! I've actually had people at work comment on how great I smell! LOL And the smell lasts for much longer than the regular dryer sheets. For detergent, I usually use Gain - it's reasonably priced, does a good job, and smells better than the other detergents out there!

Tide with a touch of downy is awesome. You can get the same smell of downy that is in the tide you pick and the smell stays. I totally switched over. It is a bit higher, but well worth it. And I have learned that tide works better on stains and oil/grease spots. AND...I love the tide to go stick, that works well too. I do laundry for six of us and I think I've tried almost everything out there. Hope this helps ya! Good luck.

Tide Coldwater, and then put in a really good-smelling dryer sheet too (I think those as fabric softeners make it smell better than detergent).

I love Tide with Febreze. That smells so good and the smell stays on the clothes. I am also loving the Downy Simple Pleasures with Lavendar and Vanilla. (ohhh, I almost want to go do laundry now!)

i like using any kind of dye and frangrance free detergent with oxyclean. for fabric softener i use the downy lavender vanilla. it's pricey, but it's SO worth it. i even have the sheets for the loads that don't need softener (towels, especially, because fabric softener makes them less absorbent.)
