Commas, but you forget that parenthesis are also used for explanations, as in the following example. I took my son (he loves tigers) to the circus.

Commas, of course, but your answers should have also included dashes and parentheses. These are accerptable forms of punctuation.

Examples:
John, who worked all day, was tired when he got home.
John - who worked all day - was tired when he got home.
John (who worked all day) was tired when he got home.

But I guess if these choices weren't on your homework, you didn't list them, huh? :o)
