and it would only be if I just talked to him right, because I don't want my other friends in trouble!
& this might sound REALLY paranoid...but the last time I talked to him I texted him that I had gotten pulled over by a cop for speeding. Now his phone has been off for 3 weeks! He hasn't paid his bill (I know) so his phone is cut off or he cut it off. He tried calling me from someone elses phone that same day after I texted him but I missed his call, and haven't heard from him since. Did I get him in trouble, especially texting him? Is that what they do if they don't want to be traced is to cut off their phone? I really apologize but I want to get a full understanding of things before I put myself in any danger!

the original question: Say I had a friend that believes his phone is being tapped for certain reasons...well if he called me from his phone, would my phone number be traced? How would I know? Would I get in trouble for even just talking or texting him?

I just finished answering your original question about this and now I read this one. You said this might sound really paranoid, well, please be aware that you and your friends are EXTREMELY paranoid. So you got pulled over for speeding. Happened to me yesterday. That's life. Do you guys think the police are actually following you around and waiting for any opportunity to pull you over and find your friend with you and make some big drug bust? You're not thinking clearly and I'm sure I know why. He hasn't called you because he didn't pay his bill and get his airtime re-upped--period. It has nothing to do with you sending him a text about a speeding ticket! You guys sound like you really believe the stuff in cop movies and that you're actually big players in the underground world and next you'll be looking underneath your car for a tracking device planted by the cops to follow you to The Man's House. Just relax and stop using so much that you go online and sound like a tweeker, all right? And find some new friends that are more respectable.

That is a little paranoid if you ask me.I can see if he was a big time drug dealer or trafficer. That is when the feds watch. And they will watch you for a while(like 6 months to 2 years) before they make a move.If he is a dealer, then his phone might be tapped. It depends why you would assume your phone is tapped. If he is a dealer, I suggest you tell him to stop.If he is not, you are one paranoid person. If he owns the government any money, all they would do is put out a warrent for him.Or if he did not show up for court. All they would do is out a bench warrent for his arrest and the next time he came into contact with an officer he would get arrested.

You need to take a deep breath and relax. Unless you have murdered someone or are planning some sort of terrorist or Columbine type attack or selling hundreds of pounds of pot, you are not a target of the government. If you were, they would have gotten you when you were pulled over. Right? They had the perfect opportunity and believe me, they wouldn't waste any time doing so if you were on their 'watch list'.
Are you a fan of the X-Files? If you are, stop watching.
This reminds me of a line in a song many years ago...
Paranoia will destroy ya.

Maybe he is being traced or maybe he suffers from schizophrenia, either way he sounds like bad news. Why put yourself in possible danger. I doubt the majority of the people who get their phone tapped is for no reason, if it is, he's into something bad. Just remove yourself from the situation/person.
