I won't be getting on a plane anytime soon!

I think this will hinder people from flying a little bit. But more because of the increased security and hassle it will be to fly. I still think that flying is safe and not a problem to be concerned with. There are bigger and better problems to worry about in life. I am not sure if someone will attack America again. I think that if they do, it won't be as "successful" as 9-11.

Security will tighten. Long delays. Short flights may become passe. Less than a days drive.
I have been on a flight that took 8 hours, (with all the time), to reach my hotel. I have driven the same in 7 1/2 to 8.

Most people did not see on TV, only aired once, papers from Iraq had plans for exporting perfume to the US.
Laced with biological diseases.

No I don't think flying will be ever safe again as long as aircraft are the terrorists favourite transport target.In order to combat them properly, EVERY airline will have to adopt the same stringent measures as ELAL employs. That will make flying even more unpleasant a task than it already is. I've just decided I really truly deeply HATE flying.
