I think the answer you are looking for is that the blood test is the accurate one. Blood tests done in a clinical lab are usually more precise. At home pregnancy tests can give false positives. A defective test kit is all it takes.

Not very likely. The blood test will pick up the smallest amount of HCG in your blood, while the home pregnancy tests have to have higher levels of HCG to read positive. Are you taking fertility shots-this can cause the HPT to read a false positive?

the chances of a blood test being wrong verses a home pregnancy test is one in a hundred. Usually a home pregnancy test is hard to pick up the HCG hormone if it is to low or you just concieved. However, a blood test will pick up that level usually no matter how low. kenziebuchanan@hotmail.com if you have anymore questions.

If you took the HPT's first and then went to the doctor afterwards and had the blood test which was negative, it sounds like you had an early miscarriage. This happens a lot. Blood tests are always more accurate.

were the tests before you went for the blood test, if so, you could have been pregnant or just had a chemical pregnancy. HPT can pick up HCG even if not pregnant especially from a checmical pregnancy.

0% If the blood test said NEGATIVE then its negative. But its not likely, infact i've never heard of someone getting a positive hpt and not be pregnant. But you can get a negative test and be positive.
