You release dopamine when orgasming. That's why porn is addictive. It's like taking drugs. You get a rush of a "high" and then crash afterward.

The French call is 'le petit mort' or 'little death'. Men are tired and unable to perform for a while after ejaculation. Women are less tired after an orgasm, and tend to feel more euphoric.
There's no 'reason' as such, though there are plenty of theories - the one I like best is that in nature, by making the male tired after sex, the female has a chance to move away from him (having already received what she needed) and the male is less able to mate with multiple partners in the pack ... None of which, hopefully, applies to modern-day humans!

i'm a female and i take at least 2 nice naps a day after orgasms. so yes! we do feel tired afterwards.

Yeah, we do. I have no idea..I guess your body is just so overwelmed that it has to take a breather for a couple of seconds..its like..it just ran a marathon and completed it, and now its tired and needs to rest :)

its a release, and it is relaxing, not tiring
women have mucho relaxation after orgasms, that's one of the reasons they like cuddling after sex
