if ALL ELSE FAILS.......just......give your BOYFRIEND a couple of beers...or...when hes about to shoot DISTRACT him lol...

if you still cant beat him...just practice your shot accuracy.

keep the cue level with the table as much as you can.someday when you can hear the balls roll even when the music is playing you'll be there. keeping your cue level with the table you will get way better and hold your stick in the back with two fingers. use the light that shows on the top of the balls from above that's the middle of the ball.no matter where you stand around the table you will see the reflection from the lights on the top of the balls use that to help find the center of the balls

Pool is all about angles. Try to imagine lines between the cue ball and the other balls. Imagine the angles that will put the ball in the hole. Also, make sure to hit the cue right in the middle (you can hit other places on the cue ball, but that's more for advanced play).

One thing that was kind of a "light-bulb" for me was that when the cue ball hits the object ball the cue ball will always glance off at a 90-degree angle from the object ball.

Just practice- alot!! I have been playing for 8 years and still learning some shots. I already know how to hold my cue and where to hit the cue ball to the object ball- just not good at massee and schtuff.

Many novice pool players only focus on the current "shot" they are about to take, hoping just to make it. More advanced players plan their next shot before they even shoot at their current shot. Learn to control the cue ball using "english" and set yourself up for your next shot.
