i haven't heard the single 'beef', but i discovered him by first listening to talib kweli, and then finally discovering blackstar. that duo is amazing; i think their music should definitely be more mainstream. i think that mos def is pretty much in the public eye, not as much as say, tom cruise, but he is at awards shows and in popular movies and such. i think that not only is he underestimated but does not recieve so much attention because he doesn't have blue eyes and brown hair. you know what i mean?

i think he should stay at the level where he is at.which makes him a star because a lot of people know him but i think the topics he discusses makes him more unnderground because he can be so deep at times.have you heard the single "beef".girl that song is so true and needs more recognition. i think that he SHOULD be more popular but you know some people arent ready for the truth that he spits.i think he is cute.he has a nice look about him.i love hime because he is also very unique in the way he dresses. he doesnt ty to appeal too mainstream.

He is really great! My gosh did you see him in What the Lord Made! Alan Rickman and Mos were great. The story was incredibly moving too. And even thou Seth Green and Mark Wahlberg were in the 2nd Italian Job he was the funnest part of the movie. I hope he gets better roles so he gets the respect he deserves. As for the not getting attention because of his looks I think he gets less attention then million dollar actions stars because Hollywood work on the what has worked in the past is what we film premise. If you are in a movie that makes a lot of money and they prostitute you for all you are worth. But you are only as good as your last dollar/film. I really believe although Mos Def has made some "Hollywood" movies he chooses movies because of the love of the craft and for good scripts. I could be wrong but I hope not. I do hope he gets many more opportunities.

I LUV MOS DEF he is gorgeoussssss and by far the best rapper cuz he keeps it reall and he iz a great actor he has it all and unlike rappers nowwa dayz he doesn't diss people for the recognition cuz he already has it and he's just unique in the best way glad u luv him too

He's amazing on the acting front. I think his best work (that I've seen) was in "The Woodsman" with Kevin Bacon. I've heard some of his work on the music front, but not enough to call myself a fan, just yet.
