.

I think you would find that would be the case, they would lose the sense of the forbidden, the mystery, it is in part that breasts are somehow 'naughty' and should not be seen, an idea which could and does come from a society with a very unhealthy attitude towards sex and sexuality, the most natural of expressions
and emotive content, but no as a society it is said to be rude, dirty, unhealthy etc all of which are negative and unhealthy that provide the impetus for the 'turn on' associated with them now ...

Oops was wandering there a bit ;-) ...

I don't believe that in this case familiarity breeds contempt rather familiarity / demystification would give a healthier view of the breast rather than an 'object' of misunderstanding and negative importance...

I had this discussion with my boyfriend the other day. he said that the excitement is rooted in the fact that the exposure of breasts is generally prohibited or else disapproved of in every day society, and as such, men rarely see them. He said the same response would arise from the exposure of ankles if they were considered "naughty" in the way breasts are.

In some countries (3rd world mainly) women do walk around with their breasts on show, and men aren't constanstantly in a state of excitement, so I guess my bf is right. It's the frequency of exposure that makes them exciting.

You bring up a valid point. It is comparable to the old alcohol debate here in the US. Other countries don't have as much of a problem with alcholism, yet they don't have a "legal drinking age" like the States. It is just a naturally accepted part of the culture. Could the same be said for breasts? It is probably a little late in the game for us to change things at this point. Good argument, though.

Plenty of tribal women walk around without feeling the need to hide their breasts, it's already accepted in their society. It's as much to do with climate as anything.
In GB men got over getting excited over a flash of ankle quite some time ago!
It's doubtful that the theory is going to get tested at any point soon, sorry to disappoint you!

I don't think so. We are still turned on by the shape of a sexy woman and we see that every day. It would take some of the mystery out though. Perhaps all that will happen is a good breast would become beautiful rather than sexy much like a woman's face.

Yes. They'd become immune to it. Like on nudist beaches and topless beaches in Europe. The guys aren't walking around all excited there.

I was in Dubai once and saw some young men eyeing up this lady's ankle (it was all you could see of her) so obviously in that covered up society, the erogenous zone was different to what'd we'd get excited by.

It's human nature - less is more.

That's why pornography is kind of overkill. I'm not against it in a moral sense - not at all - but men get kind of jaded and compared their 40 year old wife who is the mother of their kids with some 18 year old.

I've been on vacation in Spain and on the beaches there most of the women are topless and I'm sad to say that familiarity does breed contempt. Breasts lose their appeal when they're on open display.

Breasts would not loose their entire appeal, but the cloaking of them creates a certains secrecy and taboo that is the actual eroticism. Any body part concealed is suddenly mysterious. Any person you cannot have you want, the getting of which is an intense sexual high.

I think it could be possible. When my other half decided to purchase a lads mag 'nuts' recently, each page was covered with the women showing their breasts.

He admitted to me, that it was boring and he wish he spent his £1 on something more useful like the lottery or a big bottle of budweiser.

we just got back from an "adults only" resort in Cancun it was clothing optional around the pool and beach after about 1/2 an hour you don't really notice any more also there's something about seeing a 200 lb 50 yr old woman topless that kinda puts it all in perspective
