Sex is a necissity because in order to continue our race, we require offspring. However, it is something only for those in whom you are committed too. If used improperly, it could spread disease, harm others emotions, or even create unwanted pregnancies in which both parties do not have the resources to raise.

It is not necessary for the survival of the individual, only for the survival of the species. Animals are hard-wired to protect the good of the species, even in situations where that goal is adverse to the continued well-being of the individual. So, yes, we can live without it. We can take it or leave it. Who says sex is wrong? It is only wrong if it is forced on an unwilling participant or involves a partner who is not competent to make decisions (i.e, minors, people who are drugged or mentally defiicient). Sex between consenting adults can be a thing of beauty. And no matter what anyone says, it's OK to enjoy such sex without intending or enabling reproduction. Sex without education or conscious decision lowers humans to the level of animals, so before you choose sex, you should know exactly what you are getting into and all the repercussions.

Sex is not wrong. It is wrong under certain circumstances because the consequences of sex is what matters, not the pleasure that it brings.

For minors, if they have sex and end up dealing with pregnancy, the abortion issue will come into the picture, the life of the couple will be endangered, not physically but mentally.

In marriage, if adultery is committed, not only the marriage will be questioned but also the life and condition of the family members as well, including the young children.

If you're single, you're on your own, and you're very well in control of your life, and the fact that you have sex would not effect anyone or yourself in any harmful way, then sex is not wrong.

Sex is neccesary because it's part of the human desire. It's the pleasure and exaltation that we want. It's also neccesary because of the cliche term: reproduction.

Sex is perceived by certain segment of the society to be 'wrong' because sex is the only action that you can abstain from without actually dying. Other necessities such as eating, drinking and sleeping too have also been perceived as 'wrong' when people indulge excessively in it. For example excessive eating and drinking is gluttony, excessive sex is lust, and excessive sleep is sloth. People who perceive themselves to have high moral values believes righteousness comes from the ability to control these actions especially sex, and hence condemns it.

It has also got to do with the concept of virginity. Virginity is something that can be only given once. In eating, drinking or sleeping you don't actually lose anything. Sex is also something directly involved with passing down of genes. Parents prefers their daughter to carry the genes of a guy that they approve and guys generally doesn't want to have a girl that is carry someone else's child. Hence society feels that there is a need to control these behavior in children especially those reaching puberty, making sure that they do not get pregnant or impregnate others before they are socially and financially ready. Because of this, it is easier for them to tell their children that sex is 'wrong' than to give them a lesson on sociology and finance.

If sex was so wrong, then you would not be here to ask this question. Unmarried, unprotected sex is immoral. But there is nothing wrong with the act itself. Sex is necessary, between two people, for the procreation of man. In the biblical sense, it is intended for married people. But hey, society changes every minute. I'm waiting for the Federal Government to decide when, where, how many times, and with whom can we have sex with!!

Why not? They are trying to regulate everything else in our lives!!!!!!!!!

Anyone can live without sex. It is physicly possable. It is not necessary for survival at all. Sex is not necessarly "wrong" but teenage/premature sex is consitered wrong. Also some people think it is wrong to have sex if they are not trying for a baby witch is not true. In my opinion sex is OK as long as your married and not like 17.

It is not wrong if it is in the proper boundaries -- marriage. And yes it is necessary to survival because without it, no one would reproduce and the human race would die out!
