No way, babies eat what they need. Never limit a babies food intake. You may find in two weeks she only wants 2oz every four hours all day then drinks 6oz at night. When they are hungry feed them (every two hours if need be) and when they are full stop. Don't try to get her to finish that last 1/2 ounce. Think about breast fed babies, mom has no clue what they are getting at each feeding. They go through growth spurts and need it then she may want to level off for a while. Don't worry as long as she is wet at least 6 times a day, poops once a day at least (formula fed baby, breast fed a diffrent) and keeps gaining wieght. My babies were tanks, some people told me stop feeding them so much but now (1yr & 2yrs) they are perfect. Pudgy babies are healthy babies. Just make sure when you start feeding solid food it is good food and not junk. Good Luck and Happy parenting!

My son is only 1 month and he is drinking 7 ounces every 3 hours so I would say that ur daughter is eating just fine. If she starts to eat less than 4 oz then you worry. The hospital feeds newborns 2 1/2 ounces every 2 to 3 hours so she is eating normal I would say and as long as she isnt crying or having constipation you have nothing to be concerned about.

Depends on the child. My 1st son only ate 2oz every 2-3 hours at two weeks. My other son ate 3-4 oz every 3-4 hours. It just depends. You should have nothing to worry about.

Absolutely not. My child woke me up every two hours and would take that much. At 6 weeks she was taking a 8 oz bottle.

(Reply to my_precious) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ladies do not ever give your infant water if they are breastfed or take formula exclusively. The baby needs all the nutrients it is getting from which every form you have chosen. Both formula and breast milk are made from water. By giving your baby more water without nutrients, your baby could suffer from water intoxication/ poisoning. Too much water in their little systems thins down their blood and can make them very ill. It takes great quantities of water for an adult to suffer from water intoxication only because of our size but it does happen.
As far as 3-4 oz every few hours, its fine. Your baby will not eat more than she needs.

Pat yourself on the back you have a healthy baby. It is very good for your child to have that amount. My girl was drinking that much at two weeks then it doubles in a few more weeks so look out.

my daughter's pediatrician mentioned that it is going to be one million/2 an ozfor each and every pound they weigh. so while she weighed 14 pounds she substitute into ingesting 7 oz.. however at this age i dont think of which would be precise, if she is ingesting 3oz, she might purely weigh 6 pounds. inspite of the undeniable fact that, a toddler will in lots of cases provide up if she is finished. so if she keeps ingesting after the 3oz then enable her go.

Sounds right.
I would be concerned about giving one that young water though. I know we were told not to do that with ours. Their little tummies are so small and they're growing so fast that they need those vital nutrients every few hours to continue to fuel their growth. If you fill their tummies with water, then there is no room for the necessary nutrients.
