Mariano Rivera.... hands down. Did he blow a save the other day? Sure. Did he blow Game 7 in the World Series against the Diamondbacks? Sure. Has he been otherwise one of the most powerful and consistent pitching forces in the history of baseball? Definitely. He'll be a first ballot hall of famer, and is the gold standard and model that other coaches and managers want their closers to be like. Jonathan Papelbon has had an amazing season, but that's all it is... a season. And even he just blew a save against the awful Royals. Mo has been doing it for 10 years, and will continue to set the standard for a few more. His cutter is unrivaled!

Derek Jeter. Most clutch player NY has, and he is very friendly to kids while he's in the batters box; he jokes with them, and laughs with them... he doesn't have to do that, but its very cool of him to do, and that makes a kids day!
