I have a netgear 624 router and a 311t card for my desk top. How do I go about step by step to set this up. I'm new to the network and wireless thing.

(You should read the instructions!!!)

I have used Linksys. I never had much success with Netgear's equipment. However the basic idea is still there.

First plug in the router. Plug in the computer to the router via ethernet cable. Type in the router's IP address ( usually 192.168.1.1). Youll need to know the Router's default password. Set up the SSID on the router. This is the identification of the router's network.

Install install the drivers for the wireless card and then install the wireless card. The wireless card will search for SSID. When it finds it, you "Connect"

Whalla you're done. Kinda. But now the network is not secure. You need to go into the wireless router and set up the WPA security. Essentially the router can only accept wirelesscards that have this encrypted code word.

Hope that guides you in the right direction.
