Flats, or a very low heel like a court shoe. I seldom turn my ankle wearing flats! Not to mention that high heels throw all your weight forward onto your toes, giving you sore feet and a backache due to unnatural posture. Yes, they make your legs look "attractive" to some, because the calf muscles are tightened to the max...because your body is struggling to keep itself upright.
Historically, putting heels on shoes came into use in order to keep the foot in the stirrup when riding a horse. High heels came into vogue with Louis the 14th, who was short.
I don't ride and I'm not short, so I wear flats.

I think a lot of it depends on the outfit and the person. One of my friends looks ridiculous in flats, it just looks like she's trying too hard. But put her in a pair of stillettos and the guys stop and stare. Then again she can walk straight in them. I guess for myself, it all depends what I'm wearing. A lot of times I wear flats just for the comfort, but certain times and clothes just call for a good pair of heels! Then again I have over 65 pairs of shoes, so I guess I have enough variety for most any occassion!

I love heels, but I can't walk in them for ten minutes before I start yelling my feet hurt, so I normally op for a cute pair of flats.

i would definitely go for high heels and wedges all the time. firstly because I'm quite short, secondly, i feel sexier wearing them. thirdly, it's so stylish. i could walk miles (even in ragged paths) with them. i own a reasonable pair of heels.
call me mad but i would prefer style over comfort.

nicely, i'm 27 and began wearing heels about a million or 2 years in the past. no longer in the course of the day, yet when i bypass out and dress up. i myself like intense heels, for some reason, and do not discover them uncomfortable. actual, that's fairly functional to leap with them, and that i will walk very really (besides the shown actuality that that's actual that that's no longer large to stroll all day with them - that is at the same time as they change into uncomfortable). i'm also 5'4". besides. Heels make your calves look more effective acceptable (in case you regularly positioned on heels, it is going to actual tone your calves), and your thighs too (it is going to "outline" your muscular tissues, or a minimum of will make your legs look bit slimer). It also makes your legs look longer, that is reliable for women folk who've a lengthy torso and short legs.

Both are good But go for in which you feel comfortable. If you can't wear heals then you don't need to wear them.

Flat is better. Wearing heels for a longer time even damages you skull bones.

I can only walk properly in high shoes, I wore too many of them when I was younger and now I have Barbie feet! But I agree, flat shoes can look nicer.

I think flats are fine for taller women but when you are only 5'1 you need 4inch heels to be close in height to your date which does matter on formal occasions and it feels good to be taller. Its also easy to walk right.

High heels and flats are both very stylish for fall.
If you like flats better, knock yourself out!
