do it. even if you dont play you will make friends and it will feel good to be on a team. at our school we have 110 kids on the frosh team each year jsut cuz so many want to play a lot are too small but they have fun and meet a lot of cool guys. so i say do it! you never know, maybe you will be a rad corner back or sometihng

Depends on what you like. I really enjoyed football in high school. Before college I was advised "If you can not play football, then don't." It was good advice because of the injury potential. I'm enjoying an athletic lifestyle now while I watch alot of friends hobbled by old injuries. I'd suggest finding a different sport unless you really like football... but if you do, go for it!

you should... get experience, freshmen year is cake but you relly get a feel for the game to see if you like it or not. What position your trying out for? You should go for RB because your height you should also gain weight with anything (fat and muscle)as long as you keep whatever speed you have. Also running a mile doesnt really have to do with football running fast (40 yd dash) and starting and stopping quickly is what really matters (what reggie bush does).

Give it a whorl. Darren Sproles who plays for the SD Chargers is only 5'6" and set all sorts of records at Kansas State as a Runningback. I think with your size and quickness I'd look at the RB spot. You're young, you'll grow.

If you love the game of football, and know you have at least a bit of skill in it then go for it. My cousin was about the same size as you, and he was a superstar in high school. Now he got a scholarship for football in college!

Good Luck!

even though people cant expect you that you cant make it in the team you at least have to try, even though you never played football before, try practicing the basics so when you decide to tryout then theyll see if youre really ready for it. hope this helps

I knew this rail thin guy that was on his high school football team. He was VIP and everything, don't ask me how.

But maybe you should try out for track or cross country instead. I think you will excel at those sports.

Definitely!! Don't let being small hold you back. Go out for football, have fun and you won't regret 10 years from now that you didn't try.

I've never regretted anything I did, but I've regretted lots of things I didn't do.

Remember what Animal Planet taught you: It ain't the big that eats the small. It's the fast that eats the slow.

Go for it.

sound real small, but you wont get bigger without putting work into it. if youre ever going to want to play then you need to do it now while youre still real young, find out how you like it then work towards a starting spot as an upperclassman
