Birds keep flying into my window is there anyway to stop them?

Birds try and fly into our house all of the time they keep scratching at the window and flying into them it is really weird and creepy. I didn't know if there was something to make them stop.

Some birds are territorial and are attacking what they think is a rival bird but is actually their own reflection in the window. Some birds will knock themselves out trying to run off this rival who also won't give up. I taped a scary face picture inside the window and the birds stopped.

Use some dark coloured card to cut out a flying bird shape and stick it on the inside of your windows, that should help. You could also try hanging or gluing CD's you no longer want in the window and that should deter the birds.

Your windows are too clean. They see the reflection of the sky and keep on flying. Hang a suncatcher or something there to break up the reflection.

Lots of stores (especially ones like Michaels or Hobby Lobby) carry window decals. They're easy, moveable and removable. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and pictures. When I was younger we had big ladybug ones on our sliding glass door because of the same problem. It helped. Kudos on your super clean windows though! :o)

There is a film you can put on to make the window darker, it is like thick saran wrap. You wet it and apply with a squeegee. It would help keep out sunlight, too.

Anything that will break up the wide open look. Suncatchers, the paint that looks like stained glass (Gallery Glass), even masking tape would do it. They just can't see that they can't fly through!

Pick them off with your shotgun before they get to the window.
