here are some tips:
well if you use foundation, than make sure its oil-free so it doesn't clog your pores.
always moisturize your face. wait atleast ten minutes after moisturizing your face if you're going to apply makeup.
make sure when you put on foundation that you get a bit on the neck too so that you don't have a makeup line from the side...it looks bad.
when applying concealer put a line down the center of your nose and blend it with the concealer you put under your eyes for a more natural look (got that one on oprah from her makeup artist)

Are you using a cream to powder or just a cream base? If you have dry skin, the powder will tend to wear off because it has nothing to stick to(the oil on your face). Have you tried the new Revlon Colorstay line with Softflex? I tried it and I like it and it stays fresh. Another product to try is the Loreal True Match.

I use a new mineral based powder foundation (bare minerals). It's wonderful. The liquid foundations just melt off after a while. Try a new mineral foundation. You will be amazed.

use mineral makeup. it is really good for your skin and it comes in all formats of foundation. also, the minerals in it reduce redness and swelling from zits and stuff like that. you can get just about any kind of mineral make up. i use the kind that neutrogena sells. it runs about $13 in FL. Any other brand you see will be alot more expensive. make sure they are not oil based. that means they are fake.
