I am a huge fan and I would always love to go to the World Cup, but I don't think I will go to the one in South Africa though!
These are the reasons that I heard from Soccer News:
1. South Africa don't have efficient and mass public transportation to provide to millions of soccer fans
2. Too much severe crimes in South Africa
3. Don't have enough soccer stadium ... hopefully they will finish building the rest of them by 2010.
4. Don't have enough "hotels" .....
I also heard that by 2009, if Fifa find out that South Africa will not be able to be ready to host the World Cup, it will go to Australia instead.
I will still and always support ITALY !!!!!

Funny, because I was about to ask the same question. I hope I will be able to go in 2010, because it has been my dream since I was a child. I couldn't go this year because I am studying in college, and I spend all my money on tuition and books. But in four years, many things will change, and I will make it a priority to go to my first World Cup!!!! I will support England, Germany, and France!!!!! And I hope there will be joy and not sorrow!!!!! And if it is true if South Africa isn't ready to host the World Cup, then it will go to Australia, then that's even better, because I've always wanted to go to Australia.

me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im soooo incredibly excited!!! i have to get my passport renewed at the embassy in DC (since im not a US citizen). ive even started a small savings fund to make sure i have enough money!! im even considering getting another job while at school to make sure that my plans dont flop due to financial issues.
you know who i'll be supporting, juventina...the usuals, argentina, portugal, spain, italy, ukraine, and ghana (among others). im prepared to support brasil as long as they arent against argentina. and im keeping my fingers crossed that if argentina doesnt win, the world cup at least goes to south america or africa (for once).
