Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open Task Manager, Alt, then U,U, Enter

Alt acesses the Menus in Task Manager, U and U select Shut Down and Turn Off respectively (look for the underlined characters in each menu).

The Windows Key also works instead of Ctrl+Alt+Delete but instead opens the Start Dialog. On some PCs, pressing U will then open any program in the Start Menu that begins with the letter U! If it works OK for your machine, then use it. I often need to shut down a lot of PCs with different configurations. Doing it through Task Manager works on every PC regardless. (if they are English!)

Note. Pressing the power button works on some machines, on others they go onto Standby or Hibernation! In Windows 2000 & XP, it is acceptable to shut down with the power button. Don't do it in Win 98 or earlier, though!

Instead of using the task manager, you can use the "Windows" button on your keyboard. It will open the start menu, and then you can press "U" or whatever it is in your version of Windows to get a menu for shutting down. That's easier than opening the task manager, if you ask me. Good luck!

Yes. Press the key which looks like 4 windows/a flag (the Windows sign) press the up arrow key and press 'shut down' by hitting return. Then select 'shut down' from the drop down menu and then press return when selected.

If it has a Shutdown key, yes (it sends the signal to shut down the machine just as if you had gone to the Start Menu with the mouse).
