My Betta fish has an unfiltered tank, and lately it's had this clear, filmy stuff on the top of the water. What is it? Is it dangerous? How do I get rid of it?

This is most likely a protein slick. This comes from the food the betta eats. You'll need to do a water change to get rid of it. If possible, take water from the surface to help get rid of the film. Don't change too much water at once. Remember to dechlorinate whatever water you replace.

Well it could be a bubble nest. Male bettas will build them when they bond to a territory. (It doesn't mean they are lonely. Bettas are very social, and mating is NOT very fun for them.) If it's not a bubble nest it's likely the result of bad water conditions. You need to clean the tank more often.

Might be eggs, but it could be a clear algea. Do a water charge, and see if thats fixes the problem, and maybe start using a algea killer.
